We must believe to be saved but we have to act accordingly. What is a belief? Belief is action, so if you say to your wife I love you, but then go on to commit an adultery that is not a proper love, is it? The same analogy is with the Christian faith, if you think you are saved but behave contrary to the teachings of the Bible then that is not a real belief.
